Rail damage disrupts Kestrel Mine shipments

Force majeure has been declared on coal sales contracts from Kestrel Mine, as a result of damage caused to the Blackwater rail system by ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald.

Rio Tinto Coal Australia, which holds a majority interest in Kestrel Mine, is monitoring updates from its service providers regarding the expected duration of repairs to the rail system.

No other Rio Tinto Coal Australia managed sites are impacted by the damage to the Blackwater rail system.

All sites managed by Rio Tinto Coal Australia are operating and working towards normal production.
