Health & Safety
We are focused on a back to basics approach to drive continued improvement in safety
Health and safety is a core value for us. Our goal is zero injuries and occupational illness.
Key activities and performance
Our all injury frequency rate, one key measure of safety performance, increased to 0.85 per 200,000 hours worked. After seeing continual improvement across previous years, this is a disappointing result. We have identified this as a key business priority and put in place a range of programmes to improve our performance.
- We recorded no occupational illnesses.
- Key areas of focus were vehicle and driver-related activities, hand injuries, improving on-site safety behaviour and contractor management.
- Each site has put plans in place to address these areas and our 2012 focus will be to further embed these plans, with a back to basics approach to safety.
- More than 1100 employees participated in Achieve Health, our voluntary health and wellbeing programme.
